Brailleart - tactile art for the vision impaired

Why create art for blind people?

A. Because art should be for everyone.

My name is Linda Finstad, and I am an artist with a heart for inclusivity.

My journey has always been focused on creating heavily textured, tactile art, but I wanted to take it a step further.

That’s why I taught myself Braille, allowing me to integrate quotes and inspirational messages into my paintings so that even those with visual impairments can enjoy and appreciate my work.

My BrailleArt primarily features flowers and landscapes, compositions that are easy to interpret through touch. Created with heavy-bodied acrylic paint and palette knives, the texture brings the artwork to life. My pieces have been exhibited in the NOA Art Gallery and showcased in the "Sight Unseen" art show, which was specially curated for the visually impaired. My work has also gained considerable media attention, being featured on TV and in magazines.

However, it’s not only the visually impaired who enjoy my BrailleArt—many sighted collectors have embraced the inclusivity of my work, choosing pieces that reflect their values. You can explore examples of my art at www.famouscoffeeartist.com.
